Rock Creek Park: A Nature and History Walk (Guided Walk — Smithsonian Associates)

July 16 @ 8:30 am - 11:30 am EDT

$55 – $75

The walk begins near Peirce Mill, the historic and recently restored grist mill that celebrates the region’s agrarian past. Participants view the adjacent fish ladder that opened the spawning route for migrating shad and herring, dubbed the “herring highway.”

Melanie Choukas-Bradley is a naturalist, forest bathing guide, and author of several nature books, most recently Resilience—Connecting with Nature in a Time of Crisis and Finding Solace at Theodore Roosevelt Island.
